GLT.IST Inovating Beyond Limits: Wordpress and React app

Goal

The primary objective of the project was to develop a robust WordPress plugin that offers enhanced functionality and flexibility for users. The plugin aimed to turn the images to webp on WordPress websites.

My role

As a key member of the development team at Galata İstanbul, I played a pivotal role in coding the plugin using PHP and Pure CSS. My responsibilities involved translating project requirements into functional code, ensuring compatibility with WordPress standards, an d optimizing performance for seamless integration. Additionally, I actively contributed to the development of a Software as a Service (SaaS) application for the plugin using React, further extending its capabilities and reach.

Key Outcomes

  1. Development of a Functional Web App and WordPress Plugin: Through meticulous coding and collaboration with the team, we successfully delivered a fully functional web application and a WordPress plugin that met the project objectives. The plugin offered a range of features designed to enhance website functionality and user interaction, including but not limited to custom widgets, advanced content management, and seamless integration with third-party services.

  2. Experience in React Development: In addition to my primary role in PHP and Pure CSS development, I had the opportunity to broaden my skill set by participating in the development of a SaaS application using React. This experience provided valuable insights into modern web development practices and equipped me with the knowledge to tackle complex frontend challenges. By leveraging React, we were able to create a dynamic and responsive user interface for the plugin, enhancing its overall usability and appeal.

  3. Utilization of Project Management Tools: Throughout the project lifecycle, we relied on industry-standard tools such as Jira for efficient task management and Git for version control. By leveraging these tools effectively, we were able to streamline the development process, track progress, and collaborate seamlessly with team members. This approach ensured transparency, accountability, and timely delivery of project milestones, ultimately contributing to the success of the project.
